This week I got the chance to stop by the office of Study Skills
Enrichment. It is located in Engleman Hall C 016. While I was there, I found
out that they have academic success workshops that help to impart useful
personal management skills for school and day-to-day life. I am actually really
interested in going to one of these workshops because I feel these workshops
will teach me many skills which will assist me to managing life as a student.
The
question I prepared before visiting the office was: What are good studying tips
for students? There response was to find a place and time when you work the
best. Then, allow yourself enough time to accomplish the work you need to
complete. Also they brought up a good point about how putting more effort and
thought into your homework actually can reduce the study time in the end. They
also suggested not to wait to the last minute to study before the test. I encourage
all students to check out the office of study skills and enrichment and look
into attending one of the workshops.
