Although I am not a resident here at Southern, lately, I
have been spending a lot of my time in Hickerson Residence Hall. My friends
Amanda and Joelle dorm here and while spending time in their room I’ve gotten
to know a few of the CC’s in the building. So far I have met the CC on my
friends floor and her name is also Amanda. After asking her questions I found
out that after you can apply to become a CC and are accepted, you have many
responsibilities to keep up with. A CC is supposed to act as a mentor toward
her floor. Also, if there is a problem on the floor or a problem between roommates
it is Amanda’s responsibility to help resolve the issue. I also met another CC,
Jay, he explained to me that the benefit of being a CC is that you get free
living, which is deducted off of your tuition. If I lived on campus I would
definitely consider becoming a CC because I feel like it would be a rewarding experience
and would be a good way to connect with the rest of my floor, as well as dorm. I encourage all
students living on campus to look into this program. Tuesday, September 25, 2012
