As a senior
in high school, what questions did you have about college? Were they answered?
Who did you ask? For my INQ video project I decided to chose the following
topic: College Survival Guide for Incoming Freshman. I picked this topic
because I feel like it could be very beneficial to senior high school students.
All seniors going into college are going to have questions about going onto the
next unfamiliar chapter of their life. And I feel like at this stage of my college
experience, I can help!
College
takes students out of their comfort zone and places them in a different
environment. Scary if you think about it. I know I was nervous going into
college because I didn’t really know what to expect. Even though I am still
adjusting I have learned a lot so far and have came to realize the adjustment
really isn’t that bad once you get the hang of things. This is why I feel like
the points and questions I will include in my video will really help out
incoming freshman.
I plan to walk around campus
asking students at random the following questions: How can you make the most
out of your college experience? Residence Life v. Commuting: which is better?
What advice would you give to incoming freshman, that you wish you knew
starting college? And lastly, how is college different from high school?
This topic is definitely very
important to incoming freshman and I think these questions will bring up many
good points. By creating this video I hope to prepare freshman for college,
answer some of their questions, and prevent them from making the mistakes many
college students do.
I plan on making my video very
interesting, informative, and fun! I’m interested to hear what the students on
the SCSU campus have to say about my questions. I hope everyone enjoys it! Premiers
October 2nd!
I have included a link that provides incoming freshman with a good list of questions to ask while visiting a college campus:
I really like this topic. I think that it is going to be really helpful and have a lot of information in it! I can't wait to watch it.
