What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger

I have faced many of obstacles in my life but mostly minor ones. Up until the beginning of junior year I had all the time in the world to get my work done, play sports and manage my social life. It was then I realized I was growing up and needed to get a job to pay for gas, my car, and other items I wanted to buy along the way.
I was happy to be able to get a job and finally be able to earn money on my own but I knew I would have to make a lot of adjustments to my schedule. I think this was the point in my life when I started to develop time management skills. I had to plan my workload, social life, and sports around a job. All of this was new to me so it was challenging at first, but I got used to it.
Most of my friends didn’t have jobs and at one point I wised I didn’t either. Looking back now, having a job really prepared me for college. In college I plan on doing lots of clubs and activities, working at the restaurant, and stay on top of the rigorous workload I will get over the next few years. Luckily for me having a job for almost two years now has helped me manage my time. I have realized it is important to make every last minute count.
I am proud that I am able to work almost twenty hours a week on top of all my other responsibilities. Without developing those time management skills early on it wouldn’t be possible for me to accomplish everything on my agenda.
